AeonShift and the points system works as follows:

Elevator Pitch:

1. Your commanders define how many points you can spend. If you don't use Command Zones, ignore this line.

2. You build your deck, adding cards; most of them are worth 0 points.

3. Some cards are ranked with more than 0 points.

Your deck is legal as long as you don’t spend more points than you are allowed to and you respect other format constraints.  ✓ 

Examples:

Using Command Zones:

1. Pick a format on our format list, or define it yourself.

2. You're using Command Zones. So you choose Commanders, using our Calculator.

3. The Calculator tells you your budget, imagine a budget of 135 Points.

4. You build your deck, adding cards that are worth as follows: 

   • One card worth 35 Points (100 Points left)

   • Three cards worth 20 Points each (40 Points left)

   • Five cards worth 5 Points each (15 Points left)

   • Six cards worth 2 Points each (3 Points left)

Your deck is legal, as long as you respect your other format constraints.  ✓ 

Without Command Zones:

1. Pick a format on our format list, or define it yourself.

2. The Calculator tells you your format budget, imagine a budget of 100 Points (which is the default value).

3. You build your deck, adding cards that are worth as follows: 

   • One card worth 35 Points (65 Points left)

   • Four cards worth 10 Points each (25 Points left)

   • Eight cards worth 2 Points each (9 Points left)

   • Eight cards worth 1 Point each (1 Points left)

Your deck is legal, as long as you respect your other format constraints.  ✓ 

Try it yourself!

1. Head up to our calculator.

2. If you use Commander, choose a Commander.

3. The calculator will give you your points budgets (how many points you can spend)

4. Add cards to your deck, respecting your format constraints (number of cards, color identity...), by either pasting a full list, using the "Add a Card" form, or typing the card name and quantities in the list.

As long as you didn't consume all your points, your deck is legal!  ✓ 

Now the fun starts!

Now you have to find opponents, test your deck and see what you want to change.

Just paste your current list in the calculator and make changes, or paste directly your new, updated list and see if it's still legal.

Your deck will be legal forever, except if a future announcement changes point rankings of the cards you're using. We publish new announcements about every two monhts, so don't forget to check your deck from time to time, especially after each new announcement!
